What is an Insurance Product Information Document (IPID)?

The Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) is EU legislation which replaces the current Insurance Mediation Directive.

It aims to:

  • Enhance consumer protection when buying insurance.
  • Ensures consumers are able to make informed decisions regarding insurance products.
  • To support competition between insurance distributors by creating a level playing field.
  • Ensure consistent standards.

Part of the IDD is for each provider to use the same document to communicate clearly the product offered and the terms of the policy using a standardised presentation format. This document is called an IPID (Insurance Product Information Document).

The IPID document will be supplied at quotation, renewal and for any mid term adjustments to help customers understand what is included in their cover.

Below you will find links to the downloadable versions of the IPID’s for our products in pdf.
